For 76 years, the Benton Franklin Fair has been the grand finale of summer, bringing the community together for a week of fun, fellowship and fried foods. Kids who have nurtured projects all year long finally get to show them off, it’s the last hurrah before the first day of school, and a place where friends old and new connect for a few days of fun.
It’s a special year for the Fair, a celebration of the nonprofit’s 76th year producing the annual event. But the Fair is so much more than the Best Week of Summer. The Fair gives back to the community all year long, with priorities to address youth development, food insecurity, ag education and cultural diversity.
The Fair is also a major contributor to the regional economy. The event has an annual economic output of $18.5 million in Benton County alone and employs more than 120 people during the peak season. Statewide, agricultural fairs generate nearly $400 million annually in business revenue, providing local jobs, and bringing visitors to communities across the region.
We find so much to celebrate at the Fair; from the achievements of the youth in our community to the bounty of our ag industry and the joys of friendship. It truly is a community gathering and we are proud to help make so many memories possible.
So, whether it’s your first Benton Franklin Fair or your 76th, join us for The Best Week of Summer! We promise to surprise, entertain, and enlighten you during the magical events at the fairgrounds in Kennewick.
We can’t wait to see you!
